“Apple of My Eye” is something or someone you cherish. I just love our local waterways and our clouds. This depicts the Choctawhatchee Bay close to LaGrange Bayou. Oh… did you see the apple? Just a little peaceful pasture and field. As I was traveling south on 331 to Freeport, the clouds were amazing so I pulled into an undeveloped development. Standing on my dock looking west, this is what you see. This was my first and only plein air piece. I use acrylics, so standing on a dock in full sun made for quick work. The paint dried almost immediately so I used a palette knife for the majority of the piece to get some quick color down.
