As the title indicates, there’s no place like home. This is a painting looking west from our dock. Summer thunderstorm brewing.

Vanishing Point acrylic painting by Brenda Osborne

Vanishing Point”” is a studio version of a plein air piece I did while passing thru St Marks Florida. The levees in the marshes at the wildlife preserve go for miles and offer much wildlife and natural beauty to enjoy. I had a 10 foot gator visit me the day I was there. Yikes! I never saw him until a passerby pointed him out. He had climbed up on the beach behind me.

Apple of My Eye by Brenda Osborne

“Apple of My Eye” is something or someone you cherish. I just love our local waterways and our clouds. This depicts the Choctawhatchee Bay close to LaGrange Bayou. Oh… did you see the apple? It looks like you could pick it right off the canvas and eat it. Yum! Acrylic on cradled board.  12×12 framed Current Location: Emerald Coast Theatre Company, art show during the run of the play “Almost Maine”. Come enjoy… Read More

Chery Dawn

This wonderful fishing boat docks at the mouth of Mallet Bayou in Freeport, Florida. I have sailed past it many times and admired the well kept condition and beautiful color of this boat. A friend saw the painting and told me her name is “Cherry Dawn”.   Current Location: Trinity Massage and Bodyworks

This is the view from the dock in my backyard. I am starting my series on boathouses. This piece was created for the One Size Fits All show in Santa Rosa Beach. The show continues through the middle of March. This piece is available for purchase, $100. Location: Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County, Bayou Arts Center, 105 Hogtown Bayou Lane, Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459

I love this boathouse that sits at the end of Mallet Bayou at 331. I made this painting in trade for some frames that Bobby made for me. Now, Bobby will have to make a frame for this.  🙂

A little scene from along the road in Freeport, Florida. This is a larger version of one I had done several months ago. It is also brighter. When doing a painting again, it is interesting to see how I choose to paint it and the colors used. Even though it is the same scene, they are different. Current Location:  Somewhere Along the Way Gallery, Micanopy, Florida

When kayaking in the bayous I sometimes feel like I am in a mountain valley. This is due to the tall trees on either side of you and the distant clouds. This is the bayou in the early morning as the sun is hitting the trees and the morning shower is gathering in the distance. Very peaceful. This painting is acrylic on a museum quality hardboard 1.5 inch cradled panel. 12″x16″. Current… Read More

Just a little peaceful pasture and field. As I was traveling south on 331 to Freeport, the clouds were amazing so I pulled into an undeveloped development. One of those started in the early 2000’s and never made it thru the real estate crash. Anyway, there are all of these nice roads with rolling hills and fencing. These make a nice foreground for the clouds. So, I took a few photos and really… Read More

This was from a photo I took while sailing in Mallet Bayou, Freeport, Florida. Fall was just beginning and the small red tree just stood out among the tall pines. Current Location: Freeport, FL Townhall, Featured Artist of the Month, Freeport Art League
