As the title indicates, there’s no place like home. This is a painting looking west from our dock. Summer thunderstorm brewing.
This wonderful fishing boat docks at the mouth of Mallet Bayou in Freeport, Florida. I have sailed past it many times and admired the well kept condition and beautiful color of this boat. A friend saw the painting and told me her name is “Cherry Dawn”. Current Location: Trinity Massage and Bodyworks
I love this boathouse that sits at the end of Mallet Bayou at 331. I made this painting in trade for some frames that Bobby made for me. Now, Bobby will have to make a frame for this. 🙂
Standing on my dock looking west, this is what you see. This was my first and only plein air piece. I use acrylics, so standing on a dock in full sun made for quick work. The paint dried almost immediately so I used a palette knife for the majority of the piece to get some quick color down.
