This wonderful fishing boat docks at the mouth of Mallet Bayou in Freeport, Florida. I have sailed past it many times and admired the well kept condition and beautiful color of this boat. A friend saw the painting and told me her name is “Cherry Dawn”. Current Location: Trinity Massage and Bodyworks

The Walton County Library, Coastal Branch asked several artists to do paintings based on a book of our choice. I chose the book “A Land Remembered”, by Patrick Smith. If you have never read this and you live in the State of Florida, you should. Excellent read! Look closely and you will see the fancy (painted white) cracker house in the distance. It is a bright summer day and all is well on the bayou. I just love clouds. Here is another painting of my neighbor’s boathouse with some summertime clouds. Available: Trinity Massage and Body Works

Partly Cloudy depicts an area of the Grayton Beach State Park. One of my favorite parks. This was created for the One Size Fits All show in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. It sold before the show opened! That is a first for me. 🙂 Unavailable
Here are the two paintings I completed this weekend for the One Size Fits All show that will be held at the Bayou Arts Center, Santa Rosa Beach, FL. I still need to mount them on the 10×10 panels that are required for the show. One is of a local saltwater marsh and the other is a boat house on the bayou in my backyard.

I love this boathouse that sits at the end of Mallet Bayou at 331. I made this painting in trade for some frames that Bobby made for me. Now, Bobby will have to make a frame for this. 🙂

When kayaking in the bayous I sometimes feel like I am in a mountain valley. This is due to the tall trees on either side of you and the distant clouds. This is the bayou in the early morning as the sun is hitting the trees and the morning shower is gathering in the distance. Very peaceful. This painting is acrylic on a museum quality hardboard 1.5 inch cradled panel. 12″x16″. Current… Read More

This is “After The Rain”. The afternoon rain has just passed. The sun is starting to peak out making the grass bright green in contrast to the dark clouds. The image on the left is where I started with this painting, laying out the basic colors. I like the violet clouds. I might do another one with violet. Oh, the color possibilities are endless. It is so hard to choose. I… Read More

Just a little peaceful pasture and field. As I was traveling south on 331 to Freeport, the clouds were amazing so I pulled into an undeveloped development. One of those started in the early 2000’s and never made it thru the real estate crash. Anyway, there are all of these nice roads with rolling hills and fencing. These make a nice foreground for the clouds. So, I took a few photos and really… Read More

This 24×8 inch board has been staring at me for several months now. Finally, it has blossomed into “Palmotion – It’s a Rhythm Thang!”. Yep, odd name I will explain. When I look at the painting, first my eye is drawn to the right side with the water and close up palm. Then my eyes goes all the way over to the left side, but quickly wants to return to the right. If… Read More
