Medel Manor is someone’s paradise.

My nephew, Danny, asked for a painting of this lake. He just recently moved there. Of course, Aunt B said yes. Here is it. The lake is somewhere close to Orlando.

Currently residing at Medel Manor.

The Walton County Library, Coastal Branch asked several artists to do paintings based on a book of our choice. I chose the book “A Land Remembered”, by Patrick Smith. If you have never read this and you live in the State of Florida, you should. Excellent read!

Look closely and you will see the fancy (painted white) cracker house in the distance.

Title: Big Sky

It is a bright summer day and all is well on the bayou.

I just love clouds. Here is another painting of my neighbor’s boathouse with some summertime clouds.

Partly Cloudy depicts an area of the Grayton Beach State Park. One of my favorite parks. This was created for the One Size Fits All show in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.  It sold before the show opened! That is a first for me. 🙂

Almost ready to mount

OSFA 2015 paintings

Here are the two paintings I completed this weekend for the One Size Fits All show that will be held at the Bayou Arts Center, Santa Rosa Beach, FL.  I still need to mount them on the 10×10 panels that are required for the show.

One is of a local saltwater marsh and the other is a boat house on the bayou in my backyard.

Back at it!

Sometimes, Life gets in the way of the things you really want to do. I have finally cleared my plate a bit and have carved out time today to paint. I am starting something that I hope will be fun, a series of boathouse paintings. I also want to start painting some boats. There many interesting shapes and colors to choose from.  Below is my empty canvas. Doing 2 10×10 boathouses for the One Size Fits All show.

“Dancing Lady” is one of a pair. The other is “He Plays for Her”. After doing the Jawlensky piece for the Celebrate the Masters show, I was inspired to push the limits on these two pieces.

I love her attitude strutting her stuff. The guy has an I don’t care, laid back attitude, as he plays his music and watches her, but she is supposed to not notice. Believe me she knows exactly what she is doing and so does he. Ah, the games we play for love.
